The Crossroads Man
Long ago, a little scribe in a far away place translated Latin texts day-in and day-out. He had grown tired of the tedium but had little else to do but read his work. That is when, by mistake, the Latin texts summon a demon into his home.
Will the scribe give in to the offers the demon tempts him with? Or will he ask instead for friendship, what he truly wants?
CONTROLS: This game requires a keyboard! Space, X, and Right Click. It should tell you on the screen if a specific action is required, but in case of it not seeming to work, hold space again to make sure all the text has finished writing.
Each decision adds a unique instrument to the game's soundtrack!
This is a game I made for a class in Spring of 2021 to learn about the basics of game art and sound. The project is based on a short story I wrote that follows much of the same storyline, so it is a bit simplistic in that there only is one true ending but many possible endings (though the logic may be bugged on some). Hopefully it works well enough.
If I were to remake it, I would probably make it mobile friendly, and have an intro screen, as well as an ending book that changes based on the choices you made. And by golly I would make the text appear faster.
This is a slow yet short game. It is basically a book with choices, so I apologize if it is less than interesting.
Here is my artstation post that goes into a little more of the technical side: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Krq6QW
